Our Friends

Below are cameos of those who, having previously been employed by the Bank, are now serving full time in some form of Christian ministry, and are supported financially and in prayer by us.

Please take a moment to pray for these folk, their families and their ministries. If you would also like to support them financially, you can do so by completing a standing order mandate and giving it to your local Branch to process.

Stephen Bell Previously in Albania, Stephen and his family have moved to Croatia to continue ministering to people in Zagreb. They have three young children.

Nigel Cox Having studied at Moorlands Bible College, Nigel was a Youth Worker in Kinson Bournemouth for a few years. After a year back at Moorlands, Nigel started work as the Youth and Community worker at Church Road Methodist Church in St Annes-on-Sea. His wife, Pip, is hoping to obtain some work at the local YMCA although two young children occupy a lot of her time!

Alan Ellard and his wife, Maelynn, have worked for many years in Thailand, working for some years with ACET particularly amongst victims of AIDS - which is a major problem out there. They have witnessed the conversion of a number of Muslims to the Christian faith.

Alan Kyle has been ministering in France for a number of years and moved to a church in a difficult area of Dunkirk a year or so ago but with very encouraging results. His wife, Valerie, supervises outreach Bible studies in the north of France.

Steve Lomas was made redundant over two years ago and accepted a calling to be pastor (unpaid at least initially) of a small Baptist Church in East Worthing. Has spent much of the time relationship building in the community. Now the church has a ‘booming’ Girls Brigade and the startup of a Mum’s and Toddlers Group was planned for last October

Angelica Menon has carried on the work of her late husband who worked for NatWest bank before going out to Goa. The support we have given has enabled many things to be done in a country where, for example, major surgery can be carried out for a few pounds!

Catherine Moreau is working with Gospel Literature Outreach in France. Like other GLO workers, she is very much dependent on financial support from ‘outside’.

Geoff Ruston (and his wife Janet) are also with GLO but in Motherwell where their ministry also includes responsibility for the GLO bookshop as well as pasturing local people. Janet’s principal responsibility is looking after GLO’s accounts.

Michael Williams is Evangelisch predikant in Antwerp where he and his wife, Collette, have experienced encouraging growth over the past few years. Unfortunately Michael has serious back problems, which restrict him in his ministry and Collette is seriously ill with cancer.
